The Mazda Mazdaspeed 3 was unveiled at the 2007 Sydney Auto Show in Australia and is a high-performance hatchback. It is powered by the same 2.3L DISI-MZR Inline-4 engine that can be found in the Mazda Atenza which is also known as the Mazda 6. The Mazda Mazdaspeed 3 received a facelift in 2010.

Editions

Black

The "Black" edition has been available alongside the "Red" edition since game launch. The car comes pre-equipped with Amerikon Speedsystems tuned parts.  

Mr Bee's Pizza Special

The "Mr Bee's Pizza Special" edition was originally available as a rental. It comes with various performance parts and a special "Mr Bee's Pizza" livery.  

Anode

The "Anode" edition was the rental edition of the Mazda Mazdaspeed 3. It comes with various Performance Parts, Stage 2 Lowering Kit, and Lowenhart Wheels.  

Red

The "Red" edition has been available alongside the "Red" edition since game launch. It does not feature any parts. The "Red" edition is one of the starter cars in the game.  

Orange

The "Orange" edition is an exclusive car obtained by purchasing the now-defunct Need For Speed World Starter Pack. The pack also contains 8,000 and double powerups. The pack is currently unavailable at the moment. On 24 April 2015, the car was made free to celebrate the game's Facebook group reaching 50,000 members.  

T-Mobile "Exclusive"

The "T-Mobile" edition was released September 14th, 2010 as a promotional car available for 0 by going to t-mobile.ea.com. The car was made unavailable on the website on June 28th, 2011.

Overall Performance

Achievable Classes

The Mazdaspeed 3 has a stock top speed of 211 km/h (131 mph) which is very high for a Class E car. The acceleration is around average but its power delivery is strong and features more low-end torque. The car also features a weak nitrous output. The handling of the Mazdaspeed 3 is stable and responsive, mostly because of its FWD drivetrain. However, like many other cars with a FWD drivetrain this car may understeer during hard cornerning.

For Pursuit Outrun and Team Escape the Mazdaspeed 3 will perform very well. It is heavy enough to go through roadblocks fairly easily, however, the car is prone to spinning out if police cruisers hit the rear of the car. The car will be thrown back a short distance after a head-on Rhino collision, but will regain its speed quickly thanks to its good low-end torque and good acceleration. It is also possible to avoid these collisions without problem with the responsive handling the Mazdaspeed has.
