The Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake is a modified version of the Ford Mustang. When the Super Snake was released back in 2008 it featured improvements in both power and performance.
The car received a new 5.4L supercharged V8 engine that could reach more than 725 horsepower and its acceleration time from 0-60 mph was lowered to around 3.5 seconds.
The Super Snake is based on the 1967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake, which was a car made by Carroll Shelby for Goodyear Tires.
The "The Run" edition of the Shelby GT500 Super Snake was released on December 30th, 2011 and resembles the GT500 Super Snake from Need for Speed: The Run. It comes with Gromlen race-tuned parts and features aftermarket parts making it an exact replica of the one featured in Need for Speed: The Run.
Pro Stock[]
The "Pro Stock" edition is an edition of the Shelby GT500 built especially for the Drag Game Mode. It features Gromlen tuned parts, drag skill mods and aftermarket parts. This edition was released October 16th, 2012 at the same time with the drag mode. The car is also part of the Premier Drag Car pack for
6,800 from the Web Deals section of the Need for Speed: World website.
Grey[]
The "Grey" edition was released on October 10th, 2014 as an IGC weekend special. The car does not come with any pre-equipped performance parts, aftermarket parts or skill mods. The "Gray" edition was later made available again as part of the March 5th, 2015 IGC rotation.

Achievable Classes
The Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake has a stock top speed of 306 km/h (190 mph). Its acceleration is weak and the same goes for its nitrous output when compared with other cars in Class A. The handling of the GT500 is very responsive and has much more grip when compared to the Ford Mustang Boss 302 (2012) which has similar performance to the GT500.
In Pursuit Outrun, this car fares extremely well due to its weight. Even without any Pursuit Skill Mods and Juggernautpowerups, it can disable Corvettes from the side if traveling at a high enough speed. Hitting Rhinos head-on without the Juggernaut powerup is not recommended as it will lose a lot of speed.
