The 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 was built to compete with Chevrolet's Camaro SS because the Camaro SS was a threat to Ford Mustang's lead in the "pony car" market.
The car was designed by Larry Shinoda who was a former General Motors employee. The car also competed in the 1969 SCAA Trans-Am series. The Boss 302 got a redesign in 1970.

Overall Performance[]
Achievable Classes | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Ford Mustang Boss 302 (1969) has a stock top speed of 255 kmh (158 mph) which is slightly below average for Class B cars. The acceleration and its nitrous output is very strong. Its handling is also good and stable which makes it good for competing on technical tracks.
In Pursuit Outruns and Team Escapes it can be a very good escape vehicle. Its responsive handling also makes the Boss 302 able to dodge rhinos without any major difficulties but if it gets in contact with one it can lose a lot of speed but due to its quick acceleration it can regain its speed very quickly.
