Although Plymouth already had the GTX as a high-performance model, it was seen as moving away from its muscle car roots. Therefore, Plymouth went back to the drawing board and the Road Runner was designed.
The name "Road Runner" comes from the Looney Tunes cartoon character Road Runner which Plymouth paid $50,000 to Warner Brothers to use.
The "Red" edition was released on October 30th, 2012, and is the Cash variant of the Road Runner. It is completely stock and features no performance parts and does not come with the "Blue" edition's body vinyls. On May 1st, 2015, the "Red" edition's price was reduced from 650,000 as part of the End of the World event
- Price when Available: 487,500
For Pursuit Outrun and Team Escape the Road Runner can perform very well. It is able to go through roadblocks fairly well and it is capable of dodging Rhinos very well. However, due to its light weight, colliding with roadblocks and police vehicles (especially rhinos) are not recommended. Its strong acceleration, however, allows it to quickly regain any lost speed.
