Pontiac was established in 1926 as a companion make for General Motors and was marketed as the performance division of GM. In 2009 due to financial problems, General Motors discontinued the brand.
The final Pontiac's were produced in the following year too. Pontiac became relatively popular in Canada as it was marketed as a low-priced vehicle.
