Editions[]
White[]
The "White" edition was released on May 7th, 2012, and was the first convertible car to ever be released in Need for Speed: World. The car comes pre-equipped with Amerikon Speedsystems street-tuned Performance Parts. The Porsche Boxster Spyder is also part of the Need for Speed: World Sport Pack which can be ordered at Origin.com.
The "White" edition was also given away permanently two times for free. It was first given away on June 17th, 2012 as part of the Play4Free Countdown to Summer event. It was then also given away on July 27th, 2012, at Gamespot.com where 15,000 codes to Porsche Boxster Spyders were given away.
Red[]
The "Red" edition was released on November 28th, 2013, and is the in-game Cash variant of the car. Unlike its white variant, the "Red" edition features no body vinyls. It is also completely stock and features no pre-equipped parts.
Overall Performance[]
Achievable Classes | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
The Porsche Boxster Spyder has a stock top speed of 277 km/h (172 mph) which is high for a Class B car. The acceleration is strong and especially at its lower gears. The nitrous output however is rather weak. The handling is very good and responsive though but may show some hints of oversteer.
For Pursuit Outrun and Team Escape the Boxster Spyder may not perform so well. It is quite light and it cannot take head-on collisions with heavy police vehicles such as rhinos and go through roadblocks very well. However, the Boxster Spyder can dodge rhinos fairly well.
